But what does this mean for you?
How you worked with OzWebHost yesterday and today will remain the same
tomorrow. With the exception of our billing arrangements (see below, due
to Australian law), we are making no immediate changes to systems,
products or services, pricing or contact details. All existing prices
will of course be honoured.
We will be still working closely with Adam Lyttle from
Development Solutions, whilst he focuses on his core business of web
design, and will still be available for all your design and upgrade.
With OzWebHost now part of YourName.net.au, you can be assured that your
services are backed through our alliances with Australia’s largest
accredited domain registrar and hosting companies – as an example our
uptime for 2009, has been a very comforting 99.993%, would have been
100% without applying our necessary security patches!
Effective of 2nd October 2009, your billing will come out of the
YourName.net.au billing engine and not the existing AWBS billing that
was provided by OzWebHost – our
client portal at YourName.net.au
will host all of your services and domains.
YourName.net.au billing operates slightly different to how OzWebHost has
done previously – previously OzWebHost emailed you an “paid” invoice
that had been debited from your credit card. Due to the privacy laws we
cannot collectively transfer this sensitive data into our billing and
continue like this, and as a result from 2nd October 2009, we will be
changing to issuing an invoice 30 days out from renewal due date – this
invoice will include information about how to pay (with details for
Credit Card, Bank Transfer or Mail in Cheque). You will also be provided
a 14 day reminder advising that payment needs to be made before renewal.
